The
Dhoom girl, Esha Deol made her debut opposite Sanjay Kapoor
in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and since then has been a common
fixture of Bollywood films.
Daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Esha attended
Jamnabai Narsee School, where she excelled at soccer. She
like mother is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.
Her debut film, Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe, did not do
well at the box office, but her performance was noticed, and
she won the Filmfare Best Debut Award. She starred in a
number of films over the next two years, but none of them
succeeded. She finally had her first big hit with Dhoom
(2004).
This was followed by a Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan joint
production, Kaal which was her second hit. Her next
hit films were Boney Kapoor's No Entry which was
declared the highest grosser of 2005.
Esha's forthcoming films include Cash where she reunites with director of Dus,
Anubhav Sinha. |
