An experienced player in bhangra music, Sardool Sikander is well known in every small village in Punjab .
He is also fondly referred as King of Bhangra.
Music
runs in Sardool Sikander's blood. He inherited his
musical acumen from his grand father & father. Right
from his early childhood he was privileged to sit at the
feet of renowned musicians & spontaneously developed
an urge to explore the soul stirring realms of
music.
His
Folk singing is essentially classical based. He was
fortunate to get initiation into classical music with
help and guidance of his father and grandfather and
later on perfect his techniques under the able guidance
of one and only Sh. Charanjit Ahuja the famous Music
Director of Delhi. Significally his father Sh. Sagar
Mastana and Sh. Charajit Ahuja belong to Patiala Gharana.
Sardool
has come a long way since his Jalandhar Doordarshan
debut with Aa Gayee Roadways Dee Larry - a solo musical
presentation in eight different performing styles that
made him an instant hit in his home state. Since
then Sardool has 26 solo Punjabi albums to his
credit, with about 12 of them making it to Gold and
Platinum Status. What's more, he has played 16 lead
characters in regional movies. And, provide playback for
60 films.
