Lehmber Hussainpuri
born on
17
July 1977 in Kapurthala, Punjab
is a popular bhangra
singer in India. Hussainpuri, in a relatively
short time, has become one of the greatest
Punjabi singers of recent times. Hussainpuri
first appeared onto the mainstream bhangra
scene through Mukhtar Sahota on a track titled
'Sohni Lagdi' who then moved onto a
collaboration with
Dr. Zeus
on the album entitled Unda The Influence.
This album was a success with both traditional
and modern bhangra fans with such hits as Aah
Ni Kuriye, Mele Vich Jatt and Tin
Cheeja. From there, Hussainpuri branched
off, being featured on a countless number of DJ
and mixtape
albums. Other notable tracks include Gabroo
Shokeen, Yaar, Daru and a
notable appearance on the world-wide smash-hit
DesiRock
by Swami.
An underground mixtape entitled The Don
was later put out with several Hussainpuri
tracks, many of which became hits. An
unofficial compilation entitled The Best of
Lehmber Hussainpuri was also released
around this time.
He has many hit
tracks on his own albums as well as on
appearances on albums with Dr.
Zeus, Aman Hayer, Simon Nandrha, RDB,
DJ Sanj, Lil Sach and many others.
Hussainpuri is now
signed to Serious Records based in the
UK. His first album with them was released in
Summer 2006 and contained tracks produced by
Jeeti, Kam Frantik and Aman Hayer.
On October 12, 2006
Hussainpuri's new CD was released titled Chalakiyan.
