Milind
Ingle is the fifth generation singer from Gwalior
Gharana. He is the son of Pt. Madhav Ingle who is
himself from the Gwalior Gharana. Both, Milind’s
grandfather & great grandfather were singers
at the Royal Courts of Ichalkaranji & Sangli.
Milind is trained in classical music under Pt.
Yashwantbua Joshi. He has also specialized in the
art of Ghazal singing under Rajkumar Rizvi and K.
Mahavir.
During
his college years, Milind won most of the
inter-collegiate prizes.1993-94 was a landmark
year in his early career. He won an award of Rs.1
lakh at the All India Ghazal Competition sponsored
by Shaw Wallace held at Calcutta. Milind emerged
as the winner from a huge crowd of over 900
participants !‘Amhi Dogha Raja Rani’ was
Milind Ingle’s first film as a playback singer.
Since then, he has sung for more than 20 Marathi
films.He has recorded a number of Ghazal, Geet and
Bhajan Albums for various music companies. The
biggest career boom in Milind Ingle’s life so
far has been because of the phenomenal success of
his indi-pop Album ‘Yeh hai Prem’. The album
sold over 7 and half lakh copies becoming the best
selling album of the year. The song ‘Rasiya’
from his latest album is already echoing all
around. Milind Ingle’s Marathi album
‘Garvaa’ proved to be a major hit with the
Marathi audiences.
