Few people missed the video of "Aye Sanam".
If they did, they missed one of the best
videos of the year. Director, Sanjay Gupta,
broke visual ground with the video and made a
sensation out of singer, Abbey.
Trained by his mother, who is a classical
singer, Abbey grew into the tradition of music
in the most natural way. Music is simply a way
of life at home. The extension of the musical
tradition carried over into college life.
Playing for a band called Steam, representing
Bombay University in musical festivals, and
performing in various shows and concerts
formed a substantial part of Abbey’s college
years. Abbey turned professional at 20,
performing in informal surroundings, as well
as in pubs and hotels.
Abbey's
first album Josh which featured hit track Aye
Sanam firmly established him as a talent to
reckon with in Indi-pop world.
Abbey
has released two albums post the success of
Josh. His last album Tarana Pyar Ke featured
remixes of some of the hottest. Bollywood hits
like AaDekhe Zara, Humne Tumko
Dekha, Pyar Hume, Babu Samjho Ishare and
more. The lead number of the album is a never
done before remix called ‘ Tarana Pyar
Ka’ from the film Tarana.
The
album is packed with musical elements that are
very melodious and leave every listener asking
for more. All songs have been rendered in the
original and unique style of Abbey, delivered
in his mesmerizing voice, which appeals to
people across all ages.
