 Sophiya Chaudhary aka Baby Doll a reservoir of
talent. She is a professional singer, has trained in
Bharat Natyam and Kathak, can speak fluent French,
good Italian and can sing in Arabic and Spanish.
(of 'Baby Love' fame) has been
added to Vashu Bhagnani's 'Shaadi No. 1' which is
being directed by David Dhawan. The film is about
six people and three marriages (Zayed Khan-Esha
Deol, Fardeen Khan-Ayesha Takia and Sharman Joshi-Soha
Ali Khan).
Sophie was born and brought up in England and studied Politics and French at the London School of Economics. She then went on to study Political theory in Paris. She has always been a straight ‘A’ student whose first love is singing. What a package huh!
She stepped into the spotlight when she was just 13. The popular Hindi song MADE IN INDIA by Alisha Chinai was her stepping stone to success, as she sang the backing vocals on it. At the age of 18 she was a VJ for a TV channel in the UK.
She then released her first album with the girl band SANSARA (1999), went solo in 2001 with her album LE LE MERA DIL, and won the ‘Best Asian Newcomer Award’ at the Asian Pop Awards.
In 2002, she won the MTV VJ Hunt in India and entered the crazy world of MTV.
Sophia
in the last couple of years has grduated to Hindi films.
She not only featured in Pyar Ke Side Effects but also
sang a song. Her other releases include Shaadi No 1 and
I See You among others. She will be shortly seen in
Vikram Bhatt directed Speed.
