finished 3rd behind Sushmita
Sen and Aishwarya
Rai in the Miss
India contest in 1994. But what brought her into
limelight was her item number in Aamir Khan and Ajay
Devgan starrer Ishq.
The
impact of the song was so high that Shwetha Menon for a
considerable while was stereo-typed into hip shaking
item number girl. Determined to prove her mettle as an
actress Shwetha began to accept small but interesting
roles. from big starcast films like Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya,
Ashoka, Shikari, Maqbool, Run and Corporate to
controversial films like Market Shwetha gave it all to
her career.
It
seems finally her gambling is paying off. Shewtha will
be soon in a deglamorised role of Mohan Lal's wife in
international award winning director K P Kumaran's film
Akashagopuram.
