 Introduced
by Ram Gopal Varma on the big screen, Koena Mitra
instantly shot into fame with her item number in the
film Road. This Bengali Bombshell and winner of
Gladrags Supermodel Contest has now forayed into
acting.
Born on 7 January 1985 in Kolkata,
Koena named after the renowned Bengali river is a psychology
major. She came to limelight by winning Gladrags
Supermodel Contest in 2002. Soon after she took the
modeling world by storm and later on went on to become
the semi-finalist of Miss Intercontinental.
The
film Road gave her an entry into Bollywood and the song
Khullam Khulla became a sensational hit. Koena followed
the success of the number with a small role in Musafir.
But what left lasting impression on audience's mind was
her dance number Saqi in the film.
Koena
managed to graduate from doing item numbers to acting
with Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. Though the film was washout,
Koena managed to leave an impression. Her last film Apna
Sapna Money Money has turned out to be a hit.
She
will soon be seen in the film Anamika. |
