The
young artist of Benaras Gharana Sunanda Sharma has
had her training under the tutelage of Padam
aBhushan Girija Devi, the pillar of Indian
classical music and continues to carry the legacy
of the gharana.
Born into the family of
musician Sh. Sudarshan Sharma, she started her first
lessons at the age of 5. It was clear from the start
that Sunanda's life and career would revolve around
music. Music was always a major subject in her
academics. She did her M.A (Master of Arts) in
Indian Classical Vocal Music from Punjab University,
Chandigarh. She is proud recipient of Gold Medal in
her MA.
After
3 years of this full time learning, Sunanda started
appearing in public concerts, sitting beside her
Guru in some prestigious venues and also performing
solo. Sunanda has been performing as solo artist for
last few years in India and abroad. |
