India, a country known for its rich and varied
cultural heritage, has in its north-eastern corner
a secluded and picturesque valley enclosed by
mountain ranges. In this complete isolation was
born one of India's richest classical dance forms
- Manipuri. This style of dance is multifaceted
ranging from the softest feminine to the most
vigorous masculine. The range and tempo offered
makes a Manipuri dance performance an absorbing
and exhilarating experience.
