Alaap started in 1977, performing in
temples and small functions. Who knew they
would take the world of Bhangra music by
storm. After several years of pioneering
the Bhangra scene Alaap are still
regarded as the hottest and most
successful Bhangra band.
Guinness Book of Records terms Alaap as
the most successful Bhangra band, with
most Bhangra recordings. A career which is
till going strong Alaap have
released 11 albums, many of them reaching
platinum sale figures.
Some
of their memorable albums include Dance
with Alaap, Nach Kuriye, With Love from
Alaap, Pattaka, Cham Cham Nachdi Phiran
(with queen of melody Asha Bhonsle), Na
Dil Mang Ve (with Anuradha Paudwal)
among others. Their songs have been
extensively used in films like Yari
Jatt Di, Pagri Sambhal Jatta, Nimmo,
Uljhan, Hatya and Yalgaar among
others.
Alaap
have also released a religious album Sabhe
